Zoo Star Terms of Use and Code of Conduct

This is a draft. It was written on 22 September 2026 and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Parts labelled still under legal review may still change. Questions: support@partyvaibz.com.

Part A. Terms of Use

Who we are

Zoo Star is made and run by Stefan van Loenen, an independent developer in the Netherlands, under the name PartyvAIbz (partyvaibz.com). In these terms, "we" refers to him.

Email: support@partyvaibz.com

What Zoo Star is

Zoo Star is an audio game you play outdoors, on foot. You catch animals, build a zoo and play with other players: through chat, mail, voice messages, the marketplace, auctions and expeditions.

Zoo Star is currently free and runs as a test through TestFlight. It will later be released on the App Store and Google Play.

By using Zoo Star you agree to these terms and to the code of conduct in Part B. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy: https://zoo.partyvaibz.com/privacy-en

Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple. Later, Google sign-in will be available too. We do not ask for your email address.

You are responsible for what happens with your account. One account is for one person; do not give it to anyone else.

Zoo Star is not made for children under thirteen.

Game money and animals are not real money

The money, animals, buildings and everything else you earn in Zoo Star exist only inside the game. They are not real money, you do not own them, and they cannot be exchanged or paid out. Trading game money or animals for real money outside the game is at your own risk and against the rules.

Test period and resets

While Zoo Star is in testing, we may change the game rules, prices and balance, and something may go wrong with your progress.

At the official App Store release, all game progress will be reset to zero. We will announce this in the app in advance. Everyone who took part in the test period will receive a permanent badge in the game. The same will apply later to Google Play.

After that, we may also organise the game in seasons, with a fresh start at the beginning of a season. We will always announce this in advance.

Availability

We do our best to keep Zoo Star working well and without interruption, but we give no guarantee. The game may be temporarily unavailable, for example because of maintenance or an outage. Features may change or be removed. If we stop running Zoo Star, we will tell you in advance. There is no obligation to keep Zoo Star running forever or to keep supporting it; that obligation does not pass to anyone else either, for example to heirs if the maker is no longer able to. still under legal review

Playing safely outdoors still under legal review

You play Zoo Star outdoors, on foot, often wearing headphones. Always pay attention to traffic and your surroundings. Zoo Star is not a navigation or traffic aid: never rely on the app to decide whether it is safe to cross a road or walk somewhere.

Do not play on private property or in places you are not allowed to be, and do not play while cycling, driving or operating a vehicle. Keep the volume low enough to hear traffic.

You play at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety and for what you do while playing. We are not liable for any accident, injury or damage that occurs while you play Zoo Star, to the extent permitted by law.

Liability still under legal review

Zoo Star is provided as is. We are not liable for the loss of game money, animals or game progress, including through an outage, a bug or a reset. Our liability is limited to what the law requires; anything the law does not allow us to exclude, we do not exclude.

What players create

What you put into the game remains yours: your username, the name of your zoo, chat and mail messages, voice messages and the text of your marketplace ads. You do give us permission to store it and show it to other players, as far as needed to make the game work.

You are responsible for what you post. It must follow the code of conduct in Part B. We may refuse, change or remove a name, message or ad that breaks those rules.

Penalties and lifting them

If you break the code of conduct, we may take one of these measures:

During a suspension you can still view your zoo, but you cannot do anything that affects other players or changes your game progress. The app tells you when the suspension ends. After that, you can simply carry on.

A permanent ban applies to your Apple account. It stays in place if you delete your account and start again. For that purpose we keep an unreadable (hashed) version of the code Apple uses to identify you, and nothing else. We do not block devices or internet addresses.

For a serious violation we may immediately take a heavier measure, without a warning first.

Do you think a measure is unfair? Email us at support@partyvaibz.com with your username or the name of your zoo. We will look into it and may lift the measure.

Deleting your account

You can have your account and your data deleted. For now, this is done through https://zoo.partyvaibz.com/verwijderen or by emailing support@partyvaibz.com.

What happens then:

If you only want to start over and keep your account, you can do that in the app under Settings, with Start over.

Changes

We may change these terms. For an important change we will tell you in the app in advance. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply. The date at the top shows which version applies.

Governing law still under legal review

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection that the law of your country gives you as a consumer.

Part B. Code of Conduct

Zoo Star is a game you play together. These rules keep it fun for everyone.

Be respectful

Treat other players the way you want to be treated, in chat, mail, voice messages, on the marketplace and on expeditions.

Keep it clean

No hate, no discrimination, no threats and no intimidation. No sexual content, and nothing that hurts or harasses others. Do not share other people's personal information.

Trade fairly

The marketplace and auctions are there for fair trading. No spam, no misleading ads and no scams. Do not promise what you will not deliver, and do not trade in-game money (the euros you earn in the game) or animals for real money.

Play the game as intended

If you find a bug that gives you an unfair advantage, report it and do not use it. No cheating, no tools that interfere with the game and no extra accounts to give yourself an advantage.

Names and ads

Choose a username, zoo name and ad texts that anyone may see. A word filter is coming that will refuse names and ad texts containing swear words. A name that slips past the filter but is still not appropriate may still be refused or changed.

Report and block

Is someone bothering you? Block that player; you will no longer hear from them. If you see or hear something that breaks these rules, report it in the app or at support@partyvaibz.com. Reports are reviewed by the game's maker.

What happens if you break the rules

We look at what happened and then take a step:

  1. A warning.
  2. A suspension of 7 days.
  3. A suspension of 30 days.
  4. A permanent ban.

For a serious violation, such as threats, sexual content or deliberate scams, we may immediately take a heavier step, up to a permanent ban. What each measure means and how to appeal is described in Part A under Penalties and lifting them.
